Agua Viva Water Project
Larry was once again able to join the Agua Viva water project team this fall. He was joined by our Joel, Gerson, Joel Oliver, Andrew McNamara and Abigail Sawtell who are with us this fall. They joined a small but solid team from Minnesota and the Honduran team who prepares the way for the week-long part of the mission.
Larry was able to preach several times in the community and those who attended were very attentive to the Truth of Love that he shared. Gerson also gave his testimony to the group. Afterward, a young man approached Gerson and shared his story of abandonment, anger and violence. Together with Larry, Gerson shared more personally the love of God through Jesus and the good news of salvation with the young man and he responded that he wants Jesus to lead his life. The three of them prayed together as the young man wept. We praise God for his grace for this young man and for each one of us, as we pray for all to find Him as Life.
Dealing with a Drug Dealer
A young man whom we have served and witnessed to over the years came to me (Larry) in October with a dreadful look on his face. He began to tell me how some time before he was drawn into becoming the cocaine dealer in his community by a cartel in La Ceiba. Soon he began to enjoy the cash flow and being the kingpin to take care of his relatives’ needs. But he got carried away, spent more than he could make, and now the cartel had given him a deadline – literally. Tomorrow if he didn’t have the money he and/or his family would be dead. Tears flowed as he described the weight of guilt and fear for his family’s lives and his own that he felt. Difficult decision! Mercy? Justice? Repentance? Freedom? We spoke at length on two different occasions. We are walking with him still as we point him to the One who is freedom from the inside out. Please ask God to lead us by his Spirit in us in all such situations which arise often.
Trip to US
We will be traveling to the United States in time to celebrate Thanksgiving, and will stay through January. We will be in Minnesota and Virginia, with quick trips for Larry to Milwaukee, Chicago and Baton Rouge. We look forward to time with family and friends, to connect with those in various churches where we are loved so well.
Praise the Lord for:
-a good Agua Viva trip, October 28-November 5 for Larry, Joel, Gerson, Joel Oliver, Andrew and Abigail from Campus Adullam.
-the opportunity to travel to the US, November 22-February 2.
-Joel and Deidre Oliver who are at Campus, therefore allowing us to visit the US.
-Eva’s graduation from the local kindergarten, November 18.
Pray to the Lord for:
-the young man who accepted Jesus on the water project. Pray he continues to follow Christ and finds Him sufficient for an abundant life in Him.
-sensitivity to the Spirit as we bear witness to the light daily
-supply of a car and for others needs for travel to and in the US.
-some petty thefts that are happening again at Campus. Pray for those involved to see God’s love and grace for them, and for our loving response.
-protection and wisdom for the Olivers as they lead Campus.
-the Honduran president, as it was just discovered by hidden camera that he is behind the murder of a politician working for justice. Pray for conviction for him and for leaders to surround him and lead him and the country to the Truth. The same may be said for the US too!
Thank you so much for your faith-filled prayers and loving participation with us. As a family we need the Lord’s renewal and refreshment. You are blessing to us.
